Title of my new Song

Title of my new song is "The Ghost of Santa Avira Del Bac" (until further notice). lol.

First Official Recording

My, my what a day. You see I wrote this song yesterday, and I liked it right off the bat. The words are from the heart and the melody just came with it, sort of. I sang it to my hubby this morning. He said, "that's some song you wrote." Well, that was good enough for me, I was ready to share it with the world. Ha ha.

So I went to my favorite guitar store, Riff's. Had the Mayor Dana make me a cup of coffee while I inquired as to whether I could take a guitar class (without an appointment of course). No one was available, so I hung out, played an old arch top, and then sat down to share with whoever was sitting in the coffee shop. Met two guys. One of them was a guitar picker and the other a poet, but not a musician...I could tell he had an ear and he had trusty eyes, so I showed him my song. He seemed to like it. We talked some more and then I found out he was setting up a recording studio. I told him I hadn't much luck trying to record myself. So he said "why don't you come on over to the studio and I promise you, you'll leave smiling with a Polished CD in your hand."....Imagine that. I just wrote my song yesterday, and here I was going to record it already. Like I say you never know what your going to be doing in the next ten minutes.

I started getting nervous....had to pee a dozen times, but I decided to go on over to the studio and see what was happening there. Next thing I know, I'm playing my song and singing it too.
Being recorded. He played it back, and to tell you the truth, I was flabbergasted. It didn't sound too, too bad. Course I knew where I flubbed up, but it wasn't bad. Now I have a CD with me singing and my new song. We talked about edits in the lyrics...and working on the song and then planning in the future, producing it with other instruments....aha...bass, another guitar for melody, me strummin' the rhythm and maybe a mandolin or fiddle. A girl's dream come true. Now, the moral to this story was it all started with me putting my thoughts down on my laptop computer, playing it and adding chords...and the thing is when it's recorded and you play it back, it's out of my head and there it is coming back at me. If that isn't the darndest thing.

I'm sending the song out to the Universe tonight...hahha....stay posted and see what happens.

Yours truly,
Neets
